C-section scar, lower belly
“It healed. It’s still red.” It won’t disappear. It can fade and flatten.
C-section scars. Acne scars. Breast surgery scars. Old ones and new ones: red, dark, raised, hard, itchy, tight. You cover it, you check it in the mirror, and you have tried the creams, the oils and the sheets that fall off. Ironwomen’s Secret Scar Balm is 60% silicone with centella, in a twist-up stick. Glide it on, massage it in, several times a day. Over 8 to 12 weeks a scar can look faded, flatter and softer: less noticeable, still there.

Three scars this balm is for
C-section, acne, breast surgery
Three different scars. What each one looks and feels like, and what a balm can and cannot change.
C-section scars
Red, purple or dark, raised or hard along the bikini line. Often numb, tight or stuck, with a shelf over it. The balm is for the scar line itself. It does not change a shelf, numbness or tightness.
Acne scars
Red or dark marks where the spots were, most often on the face. And pitted scars, the ones that sit below the skin. The balm is for the marks. An indented scar does not fill in.
Breast surgery scars
Reduction, lift, implants, mastectomy. A long scar under the breast and around the areola, red or purple, sometimes raised or wide. Ask your surgeon when you can start.
A scar does not disappear. With daily use it can look faded, flatter and softer: less noticeable, still there.
60% silicone, with centella asiatica
How to use it, in four steps
These are the directions that come with the stick, in the order you do them. Nothing to cut, wash or stick on.
Clean, dry skin
Use it only on skin that has closed and healed, never on an open wound. After surgery, ask your surgeon when you can start.
Glide on, massage in
Twist the stick up and glide a generous layer over the scar. Then massage it in gently.
Sunscreen after
Follow the balm with sunscreen. On a scar that has completely healed, the balm is the last step of your routine.
Several times a day
Keep going for 8 to 12 weeks, or until you see the result. Daily use is the whole method.
Sheets and tape vs. the stick
Why sheets and tape let you down
You already know silicone: sheets, strips and tape. The silicone is not the problem. Keeping it on your skin is.

Sheets and tape that will not stay on, an itchy rash under the adhesive, and months of cutting, washing and re-sticking.

Glide it on and massage it in. Nothing to cut, nothing to stick on, nothing to fall off.

How long
Will it disappear?
What to expect, and when
8 to 12 weeks, not overnight
A scar changes slowly. The directions say several times a day for 8 to 12 weeks. Take a photo on day one, in the same light, so you can compare. Results vary, and some scars do not change.
Day 1
Start on healed skin
Clean, dry skin. A generous layer, massaged in, then sunscreen. From today, several times a day.
Weeks 2 to 4
Look for softer
Check it in the same light as day one. Softer and smoother under your finger is the change to look for.
Weeks 8 to 12
Faded, flatter, softer
The window the directions give. A scar that responds looks faded and flatter. Less noticeable, and still there.
After that
Keep going
Not there yet? Use it until you see the result. On a fully healed scar it is the last step of your routine. A refill ships every 28 days.
Results vary from person to person, and some scars do not change. A scar does not disappear and an indented scar does not fill in. Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
Straight answers
The questions asked most about scars
In the order they come up most. Where we have no answer, we say so.
The directions cover old scars: on a scar that has completely healed, use the balm as the last step of your routine. We cannot promise a result. If yours is still red, dark, raised or hard, give it 8 to 12 weeks of daily use. Nothing we have says a balm changes an old, flat, white scar.
Red or dark marks left on the surface: yes, that is one of the three scars this balm is for. Pitted or indented acne scars: no. A balm does not fill in a scar that sits below the skin.
A solid balm in a twist-up stick: 60% silicone, with centella asiatica. You glide it over the scar and massage it in. This one is Ironwomen’s Secret Scar Balm, sold on ironwomen.co.
The directions say several times a day for 8 to 12 weeks, or until you see the result. Count in weeks and months, not days. Take a photo on day one, in the same light, so you can compare. Results vary, and some scars do not change.
On a raised scar, flatter is what to look for: flatter, softer, less noticeable, over weeks to months of daily use. Keloids are another matter. We have nothing that lets us promise a result on a keloid. Ask your doctor about yours.
Only once the skin has closed and healed. Never on an open wound. When that is after your surgery is your surgeon’s call, so ask your surgeon when you can start. The same goes for a C-section.
Ask your doctor first.
Yes. Acne scars on the face are one of the three scars this balm is for. Glide it onto clean, dry skin, massage it in, and follow with sunscreen. On a scar that has completely healed, it is the last step of your routine.
Several times a day. Massage a generous layer onto clean, dry skin, then follow with sunscreen. Keep going for 8 to 12 weeks, or until you see the result.
The directions say it plainly: follow the balm with sunscreen. Put the balm on first, then your sunscreen over it.
Old scars and new ones
Faded. Flatter. Softer.
You have looked at this scar for months, or for years. It will not disappear, and we will not say it will. Glide the balm on, massage it in, several times a day. Give it 8 to 12 weeks, then look again.
It healed. Now it can fade.
